On September 3, 2015 the students from Baiko University had farewell party in the refectory of University of Southern Queensland.

There were 48 students who came to USQ to learn English.  They spent 9 weeks in Toowoomba and stayed with their home-stay families.

In this farewell party all the home-stay parents were invited.  As I also stayed with a Japanese student, Amabilis, I was also becoming the member of the family.  Look at the picture on the left, Mr. Paul Faigl is my home-stay father, Toggy is Ama's classmate, me in orange, Mrs. Delima Faigl my home-stay mother, and Sue and Bill are our friends who also provided their home for Japanese Students.

Ama stayed with for 12 days.  We used to walk from our house at # 3, Anzac Avenue, Toowoomba to the bus stop in front of St. Marry's college.  We always walked very fast passing the Salvation Army on West Street and turn right to St. Marry's.  Since the bus schedule is at 8.14, we usually left home at 8.05 but sometimes I left earlier to catch the 7.14 am bus. We got off at K Block and we separated there because she had to go to different class.  We also went back home together by 4.15 pm bus from USQ and got off on the bus stop just the opposite of St. Marry's.  Walking back home is more fun because we just walked very slowly and told each other some of our life stories.

At home, Ama and I talked about Japan, India, Vietnam, and other countries.  Actually she is from India but she goes to Japan to study English.  She is a missionary so her church supports all her needs in Japan.  After she finishes her study, she will be an English teacher.  She has been to Vietnam after finishing her Senior High School.

Let's go back to the farewell party.  I sat on the left next to Ama.  Mr. Faigl was opposite Ama. Next to me is Mrs. Faigl.  The jugs, glasses, forks, spoons, and knives on on the table.  We enjoyed the performances by the Japanese students.  They were divided into 2 groups, Surfers and Drovers.  The MCs were entertaining because they told the jokes.

Many kinds of food were served for the big dinner.  I preferred to have vegetarian food.  The dessert was also very delicious.  I loved the party.
